Alison Brooks- Founder of Alison Brooks Architects, London
Alison Brooks is one of the UK’s most highly awarded and internationally acclaimed architects. A native of Ontario, she studied architecture at the University of Waterloo before moving to the UK in 1988. Since founding her practice in 1996 she has emerged as one of the UK’s most inventive architects with works encompassing urban design and housing, higher education buildings, private houses and public buildings for the arts. She is the only UK architect to have received all three of the profession’s most prestigious awards: the RIBA Stirling Prize, the Manser Medal (twice), and the Stephen Lawrence Prize.
Alison Brooks’ unique architectural approach springs from invested research into the specific geography, climate and cultures of each project so that her design solutions emerge as both unique and relevant to the constituencies they serve.
Gabriela Etchegaray- Founder of Ambrosi-Etchegaray, Mexico City
Gabriela Etchegaray is a curator, architect and researcher based in Mexico City and New York. Her work involves designing projects, installations, exhibitions and curatorial projects. Her research focuses on art, geography and architecture that take the forms of drawings, maps, texts, documents and buildings.She is principal of AMBROSI ETCHEGARAY, an architectural practice co-founded in 2011 with Jorge Ambrosi. She was appointed as curator of the Mexican Pavilion for La Biennale di Venezia 2018. She was awarded the Moira Gemill Prize 2016. AMBROSI ETCHEGARAY was recognized as Design Vanguard 2017, and recipient of the 2015 Architectural League of New York Emerging Voices. Etchegaray has been invited to national and international schools of architecture as critic and lecturer; she is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia GSAPP and teaches a Seminar at Universidad CENTRO in Mexico City. Through her work she explores the intersections between social values, space, nature, gender, material and immaterial explorations.
Kim Yao- Principal at Architecture Research Office, Columbia GSAPP, New York City
Kim Yao, FAIA, is Principal of Architecture Research Office (ARO), a New York City
firm united by their collaborative process, commitment to accountable action, and social and environmental responsibility. Kim teaches at MIT and has previously taught at Columbia University GSAPP, Parsons, the New School for Design, and Barnard College. She has lectured throughout the United States and abroad. Kim has been awarded the AIA New York (AIANY) Medal of Honour and the Beverly Willis Foundation Mentorship Award. She was President of AIANY in 2020 and serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Centre for Architecture. She holds an undergraduate degree in architecture from Columbia College: Columbia University and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University.
Carolyn Leung- Director at Superimpose, Amsterdam
Carolyn is a director and co-founding partner at the international architecture practice Superimpose Architecture with entities in Beijing, Rotterdam and Hong Kong. Carolyn lived in Hong Kong during her early years and is educated in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. She holds a MSc degree (Distinction) from the Delft University of Technology (TUD) in The Netherlands and is a registered architect in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Prior to co-founding Superimpose in 2016, Carolyn worked at renowned award-winning practices including Foster + Partners London (2009-2012), URBANUS Beijing (2013) and Benoy Beijing (2013-2016).
During her tenure at F+P, Carolyn participated in large scale masterplanning, regeneration and headquarter projects including the Amazon HQ London, Ministry of Defense France Competition and Shenzhen CR Land masterplan. Since starting Superimpose China - apart from designing - her primary focus is on client liaison and project facilitations. She plays a key role in project acquisitions and communication. As a partner of Superimpose, she has been involved with all award-winning projects including Micr-O in Hangzhou, Re-Veil and Y-Loft City in Changzhi and the Vanke Sky-City TOD in Hangzhou, which is currently close to completion.
Ria Vogiatzi- Founder, Elastic Architects, Athens, Greece
Ria is Principal and co – Founder of Elastic Architects, a global award-winning architectural firm based in Athens that specializes in high–end hospitality design. Starting out as a small business in 1996, Elastic has since managed to form a team of 64 talented architects and designers in Greece alone, having offices in London, Toronto, Cyprus and Dubai. Ria views every new project as a challenge, a quest to craft inspiring, bespoke design solutions that create memorable, evocative experiences to future guests. Shirley Che- Marketing Director at Zweig Group, China
Gritty and forever curious, Shirley is a data-oriented creative with a passion for connecting communities to resources. She joined Zweig Group as their marketing manager in 2021, after having spent almost 5 years as the associate director of membership experience at the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Shirley unexpectedly, but immensely gratefully, found her calling facilitating committees like the Women in Architecture, Latinos in Architecture, Emerging Professionals. etc. during her time at the AIA. She brought her experience and ever-growing passion to Zweig Group and now leads the company's ElevateHER initiative. Shirley is thrilled to have extended her circle of impact to all of AEC at her current role, and is constantly inspired to witness the different disciplines work together towards a more sustainable workforce for AEC. Shirley holds a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science from University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in Journalism from University of Texas at Arlington. She enjoys dragon-boating, and is currently training to qualify for Team USA at the International Dragonboat World Championship this August in Thailand.
Christine Conix- cofounder at CONIX RDBM Architects, Antwerp
Christine Conix is one of the founders of CONIX RDBM Architects with, Jorden Goossenaerts and Frederik Jacobs. The organisation consists of a multidisciplinary team of 65 members operating from offices in Antwerp, Brussels, Rotterdam and Terneuzen. As the result of the merger in 2013, CONIX RDBM Architects has become an important player in the Belgian and Dutch world of architecture. Conix Architects was founded in 1979 in Wilrijk by Christine Conix.
Conix Architects already made a name through various residential and private projects and got internationally renowned due to the Belgian European Pavilion for the World Expo (2010) in Shanghai and the renovation and extension of the Brussels Atomium (2005). Christine Conix knows perfectly how to bring functionality and aesthetics together and outshines in the conceptualization of her projects. In 2016 Christine Conix was honoured by being awarded the Laureate of Work for Architecture.
Sheila Sri Prakash- Founder and Chief Architect of Shilpa Architects, India
Sheila Sri Prakash is an internationally acclaimed Architect, Urban Designer, and Sustainability Expert, who founded Shilpa Architects Planners Designers in 1979.

Lifetime Achievement in the field of Architecture Award 2019 for her
outstanding achievements and contribution to sustainable design thinking and the growth of Indian real estate sector.In July 2016, Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, The World Economic Forum has invited her to be part of the 25-member Global Future Council on the Future of Environment and Natural Resource Security. She formulated the Reciprocal Design Index, in 2013 when she was part of their Global Agenda Council for Design Innovation to establish, document and incentivize sustainable design of cities. She is widely consulted on matters of urban sustainability by several governments and is closely associated with the Chennai Smart City (board of the SPV), as an Independent Director and Urban Expert.She has been recently awarded the “Bene Merenti” (2017) Medallion by The University of Architecture and Urbanism, Bucharest, Romania (est. in 1952) and the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research. This award is part of the global acknowledgement she receives for championing the cause of Sustainability in international forums like the World Economic Forum, Global Environment Fund and The UN Habitat III.
Victoria Heilman- Founder and Managing Director of Alama Architecture, Tanzania
Dr. Victoria Marwa Heilman is a registered practicing architect in Tanzania. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Alama Architecture (formerly known as VK Green Architects), a company that she started in 2012 while teaching at Ardhi University’s School of Architecture and Design.
Victoria is passionate about helping communities in need through her knowledge and expertise in architecture. She is the co-founder of Tanzania Women Architects for Humanity (TAWAH), an NGO that works with women and youths to build adequate shelter for poor communities in Tanzania, and served as TAWAH’s chairperson from its inception to 2020. In 2018, she left her academic career to devote more time to TAWAH where she is now managing a number of endeavours, including the women empowerment project at Mhaga Village, Kisarawe District, in the Coastal Region.
Victoria holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Stuttgart in Germany, a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Dar es Salaam-UCLAS in Tanzania. Victoria was a Ford Foundation IFP fellow 2004, an Eisenhower Fellow since 2016, a Mama Hope Global Advocate since 2020 and she was nominated as an SDG Innovation Champion for Sustainable Cities and Communities in 2022.
Neelam Manjunath is an architect, planner, scientist, activist & theoretician with degrees both in Science and Architecture from REI Degree College Dayalbagh, and Government College of Architecture Lucknow respectively. Neelam Manjunath established her firm in 1991 at Bangalore and had been advocating the usage of sustainable materials and technologies since.
Her conviction for using Bamboo as a sustainable material is seen in all her projects. The material’s qualities and features are exploited to its adaptation on several residential and institutional buildings across the country and abroad. Her commendable works have earned her several national and international awards including IIA Dharamastha Manjunatheshwara Award, World Architecture community award, Aga Khan Award for architecture nominee, Arcasia gold medal for a sustainable project, amongst others. She has done Media Architecture and charrette training from Harvard design school and a PG diploma in Theology from Dayalbagh University.
Her strive and passion for Bamboo to bringing it into the mainstream with so many followers will bring a revolution on Sustainable Architecture development.
Shirin Frangoul-Brückner- Managing Director and founding partner of ATELIER BRÜCKNER, Germany
Shirin Frangoul-Brückner, Managing Director and founding partner of ATELIER BRÜCKNER, studied architecture at the universities of Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart. She has worked as an architect since 1994 and in 1997 co-founded ATELIER BRÜCKNER with Uwe R. Brückner. Guided by the principle “making the impossible possible“, she systematically uses her competencies in project acquisition, conception, controlling and realization. As Managing Director she is responsible for positioning the Atelier, which has since developed into one of the world’s leading offices for exhibition design.
Anja Ivana Milić - CEO and Founding Partner at Arhi.pro, Serbia
Anja Ivana Milic, architect and entrepreneur, is the Co-Founder and CEO of Arhi.pro, an international
Design&Build practice based in Serbia, Montenegro and most recently in London, UK. Her personal design philosophy and expertise are present in each project of Arhi.pro’s 20-year-old internationally acknowledged portfolio. Today Arhi. pro employs approximately 200 professionals with more than 100 engineers working in the fields of Architecture and Planning, Structural Design, Interior and Lighting Design, Landscape Design, BIM Services, Construction, and Furniture Design for manufacturing. In parallel to 35 years of her architectural practice made of work in both academia and her private practice, Anja has gained recognition and multiple awards for leading a successful, reliable and sustainable business model for more than two decades. During this time, she co-founded the Association of Women Architects (ŽAD) where she actively promotes and educates about women entrepreneurship, equality and leadership programmers in Architecture. Apart from multiple awards for Commercial/Office Architecture and Interior Design, her socially responsible approach to business, combined with the professional achievements of her practice was recently awarded by the Association of Business Women in Serbia as the most successful woman in business in 2021.
In 2011 Anja was picked as an Ambassador of Women Entrepreneurship as part of the CIP program - Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Program organised by the European Union. In 2019 she was chosen as a Serbian representative for EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women in Europe.
